Backstage at Toronto Fashion Week

The official Toronto Fashion Week and the alternative RE\SET™ collections have entered a partnership that brought together curated and established names with indie labels under one tent in Yorkville Village last week. And now that it has wrapped up, I wanted to share with you some looks that stood out for me in the fall collections.

As exciting as is to plan your whole look around the new fashion trends, I couldn’t help but applaud the beauty looks, too. I’ve been hanging out backstage with Simone Otis, lead makeup artist for beautyBOUTIQUETM by Shoppers Drug Mart, the exclusive make-up and nail sponsor for RE\SET™ 003 and Toronto Fashion Week. In the beauty business for over 20 years, Simone’s handiwork has graced the pages of Vogue, Vanity Fair, Fashion and ELLE Canada, as well campaigns for Joe Fresh, Marcelle, BITE Beauty, plus she’s worked backstage at Balenciaga, Helmut Lang and Marc Jacobs.

Her MUST-HAVE beauty product of the season? Urban Decay X Kristen Leanne Kaleidoscope Dream Eyeshadow Palette! This limited-edition features 11 vibrant shades, including a uniquely shifty yellow, vivid brights, and an out-of-this-world split-pan duotone. Every shade has a velvety texture, rich colour, serious staying power and blendability.

And now, get a taste of what next season has to bring in terms of beauty, with a close-up view of the hair and make-up from backstage at the F/W 2018 Toronto fashion shows.
