BEST DRESSED: BAFTAS 2018

The BAFTAs 2018, held at the Royal Albert Hall in London on Sunday night, saw a host of glamorously dressed guests grace the red carpet. Just like the Golden Globes, most of the attendees wore black to support the Time’s Up and #MeToo movements. The fashion definitely exceeded my expectations but you can’t pull off a gorgeous gown without pairing it with great hair and makeup.

Here is a look at some of the best head-to-toe looks from the red carpet!

Jennifer Lawrence

I’m in total awe. This might be my most favourite Jennifer Lawrence red carpet look ever! I love the way her sharply structured bodice was softened by the translucent off the shoulder sleeves on her Dior Spring 2018 Couture gown. Jennifer styled the look with Charlotte Olympia heels, a Roger Vivier clutch and Sylva and Cie jewelry. She wore her blond hair tucked behind her ears to showcase her striking green eyes and red lip.

Angelina Jolie

No one does regal elegance quite like Angelina Jolie does. She frequently wears black dresses on the red carpet and this subdued style demonstrates why. Angelina looked exquisite wearing a custom Ralph & Russo Couture velvet gown with a thigh-high split on one side. She had her long hair swept back, showing off a pair of diamond Graff earrings.

Margot Robbie

Margot Robbie looked stunning as she walked the red carpet at the British version of the Oscars. There’s something captivating about her. I, Tonya’ star showed support for the Time’s Up movement in a beautiful Givenchy Spring 2018 Couture gown. Touseled waves, soft lips, and a glowing skin was the star’s winning beauty trifecta.

Lupita Nyong’o

Lupita Nyong’o opted to keep things interesting with her warrior queen twist on the black dress code. She wore Elie Saab Couture gown, Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, and Gemfields jewels. No matter what the occasion, Lupita continues to push boundaries of what we think of when we imagine red carpet look. Pairing teal liner with a red lip shouldn’ t work. But because it’s Lupita, it does.

Gemma Arterton

Gemma Arterton was another beauty in black at the 2018 BAFTAs on Sunday in London. The actress wore a dark pleated Alberta Ferretti Spring 2018 Couture gown paired with Ara Vartanian jewellery. Gemma’s always minimal and chic whatever the occasion. Whether on the red carpet or the stage, she never fails to look perfectly put-together.

Kristin Scott Thomas

Kristin Scott Thomas, who was nominated in the Best Actress in a Supporting Role category for her work in ‘Darkest Hour,’ was a vision in a Christian Dior Spring 2018 Couture ensemble. The white detail that ran around the neckline gave her dress the appearance of a tailored suit jacket. Very Julia Roberts! Keeping her hair styled in a cropped do, Kristin looked effortlessly youthful with big diamond Buccellati earrings.
